The bride spent her early years in Ohio and is a proud Clemson graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Her career began in nuclear power - talk about a glowing resume! - and she now excels as a quality manager for Duke Energy.
When she's not crafting furniture and wedding invitations, she's often at cross-fit or outdoors with Justin on a mountain bike, kayak or hiking trail.
Beyond her professional and physical endeavors, she has a soft spot for fuzzy animals, especially tiny cows, baby bison, and Justin.
The groom, hailing from York, SC, somehow managed to graduate from Duke with a degree in Computer Science. You could say he's got the brains and the buns — a man-bun, that is!
When he's not running the Metal Heat Treating businesses, he's creating home automations that work almost half the time and trying to convince his friends that electric cars don't suck.
He's greatful for Kelsey in many ways, including her career in electric generation because otherwise he'd be both very bored and immobile.
Well, if you haven’t heard the story about our first 24 hours ever spent together in Mexico in February 2023, you probably will at some point over the weekend! We'll let others tell that story :) Before that, we had floated close to each other's spheres for quite a few years, like ships passing in the night. That is, until our mutual friends Robert and Katelyn (both in the wedding party) decided to invite us both on a weekend trip to Cancun.
They claim the setup was unplanned (sure...), but fate took over and sent us into a whirlwind of feelings! When we said goodbye in the airport on our way back to separate lives (and yes, we both cried), we knew our time together was like nothing before. Once back in the States, not 24 hours passed before Justin took the inaugural down to Clemson.
We’ve been inseparable ever since, even after spending three weeks within arm’s length 24/7 in Thailand! If we could travel halfway around the world together, it was pretty much meant to be.
We were so greatful in December when Kelsey took the next big step and moved in with Justin in York. Life has been a whirlwind of moving and grooving until Justin finally proposed on Mother's Day at the Lake Eden's Arts Festival (LEAF) in Black Mountain, NC on a sunny day next to a lake beneath the mountains. Surprise, Kelsey said yes!
Since then has been WEDDING PLANNING (lots and lots of wedding planning..) and we're so glad to share this new step in our lives with friends and loved ones! We feel very blessed :)
